Chaucer eat your heart out

Students from St Mary's University College in Twickenham will be recreating Geoffry Chaucer's Canterbury tales. The undergraduate students will be playing around the Ham Green area on Saturday 21st May.

The story orginally published in 1483 has been adapted for a BBC television series and has been adapted for the stage before. However, the Students from St Mary's are going to do the production through a tour of different pubs. Each one will be the venue for  different part of the tales. The actors will get members from the pub audience to act in different scenes as well.

Mark Griffin director of the event said: "The idea was to turn the show into a real community focused event.  Chaucer’s original pilgrims travelled from watering place to watering place telling stories to keep themselves entertained; we thought we’d not only celebrate these stories, but try and recreate that sense of journey as well.”
